I used Crucial a couple of years ago and they were very good. Their diagnostic will tell you exactly what you can (or can't) do and if an upgrade is possible, tell you what to purchase. If you are already at the memory limit your motherboard can support then there is nothing you can do to upgrade further, other than buy a new PC.

Installation is relatively simple, although you do have to go inside your PC. Mine is a Dell and their user manual detailed the procedure step by step.

If you do upgrade, you will also need to re-set the size of your Virtual Memory cache, which is usually 1.5 times the size of your physical memory.

My OH was looking at crucial.com regarding increasing the memory on my pc.

have you done disc deframenter and disc cleanup?


both of those can speed up your computer as they get rid of uneccessary files, and organize the files that you have.
