you use the information that you have just found to order the certiifcate from GRO (General Registry Office).


That certificate will tell you the date of the marriage, where it took place, who conducted the marriage, the ages and occupations and addresses of yoru mum and dad, and the names and occupations of their fathers. Plus the names of the witnesses.


The vol 10e p. 794 refers to the volume and page number in the registry books at GRO .... they're called the GRO number or GRO reference number



It is not possible to see any more information than you already have on the internet .... you have to buy the certificate.


Certificates currently cost £7, but the cost is going up on April 1st


Go to www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/


be sure to answer YES when asked if you have the GRO number

can anyone help me please. i have found what i think is my mam and dads register of marriage and my question is:
its gives the name of persons married (okay with this one)!
district - manchester vol. 10e page 794. now i am stumped as to what to do with this info - how will i find which district in manchester, and what is vol. 10e page 794 pertaining to. ant help will be apprieciated. thankyou appoligise for any spelling errors but my machine wont delete!!
