This has a free index you can search. You need to buy credits to see the entries but it is very reasonable.

I am looking for Richard Farrell born 1820 ish mayo Ireland, He moved to england and married in Manchester 19/5/1850 to susannah. I have found him on the British census 1861 on wards. But dont know how to go back futher.
It looks like buying another cert but where do I go from there?

Civil registration started later in Ireland than in England.

There are some useful tips threads on Irish research that I shall bring forward for you.

I have looked at Griffiths Valuation Co.Mayo (1857) and there are plenty of Farrells listed but only found 1 Richard...
Richard Farrell...
Townland : Tombohola.
Civil Parish: Kilbeagh

Also two other Farrells same area Michael and Thomas....
