If anyone knows of the least expensive way of getting e mailed copies of birth, death or marriage certificates etc I would love to know. Thanks

Assuming you want certs from England/Wales, go to:

www.gro.gov.uk/

They cost £7 currently but £9.25 from 1st April! They are not emailed but sent via post.

If you want certs from the Medway Towns ( ie Strood Rochester Gillingham and what used to be called New Brompton) the Web Site City Ark has most of their church records on line and you can print them off free of charge.

I think you can see London church stuff on Ancestry but need premium membership - some people on here are kind enough to have a look.

The GRO price increase takes effect from the 6th April, so you have a few more days at the old price......!

If you are fortunate enough to find a marriage in the London Metropolitan Archive records (LMA) on Ancestry, then the cost is nothing.

Details of CoE marriages are forwarded to the Registrar and are exactly the same details including witnesses that you will find on a purchased marriage certificate.
