I am new to this site and obviously making mistakes I have just had a reply to a request for information. The lady who replied was very kind and gave me information. I replied but could not see my reply on the system. What am I doing wrong? Am I clicking the wrong button. Confused please help Vincent

Hi Vincent

If you're looking at the Community page at the moment (it will have a list down the left side of the screen with "Boards Summary" at the top), there is a section called Tools underneath, with three subheadings - "My Bookmarks", "My Threads" and "Advanced search". If you go to My Threads, you'll be able to find a list of all the threads you've started or added posts to.

On the other hand, if you are meaning private messages, go to the "Messages" tab near the top of the screen under the Genes Reunited logo and hover your mouse cursor over it. A menu will drop down showing Inbox, sent messages etc. Any replies you have sent should be under "Sent Messages".

At the moment gr is playing up ,I cant reply eeither , but if I send you a message look in your email box for the message and come in through that, and possibly you can then reply and enter stuff,
here goes.

Researching:
For better results please give all the details ,name, date place as you can {pictures by me }

Are you clicking on a person's name or are you clicking on the purple reply buitton?

You use a person's name to send a private message, or click on the purple reply button to add a message on your thread so everyone can see it.

And when posting a reply on the message boards, after you have written a reply in the box, make sure you click "submit" at the bottom, rather than "reply" at top left (which would seem to be the logical thing to do ..)

Oh - and welcome to GR!
