I've been trying to find my husband's grandmother. She died in Eastbourne in 1927 giving birth to her 5th child out of wedlock and living as Nell/Elenor Berrecloth. She kept her past a secret and died in the workhouse where she is listed as known as Nell/Elenor or Ellen Dumper, known as Berrecloth. She was working for a Fruitier called John Berrecloth at the time of all children's birth and on her death cert they guess her age as being born about 1890. I have been looking at the 1911 census free part and come up with an Elenor Dumper living in Southampton with Eva Emily Dumper aged 24 and a 3 year old child Caroline. We believe Nell came from Winchester. Can anyone tell me if Caroline is showing as Nell or Eva's child and the address? I have let my FMPcredits run out so I know I've got a cheek asking.

There was only 4 rooms in the house, so it must have been rather crowded!

Thanks for looking. They must have been packed like sardines in that house and possibly the little girl was being looked after whilst mum and auntie were out at work. I guess the only way forward is to get a birth cert for Caroline to know who the mum was.
