can I suggest that you now submit an alternate name to ancestry?


Look to the left of the record page, and you should see Page Tools


In that box is Add Alternate Information


that'll help others looking for the family.

In a case like that, Molly, it's best to forget about surnames. If you just search for James born 1851, Loughborough with parents Joseph & Priscilla, it's the first one that comes up. Always view the original image, don't rely on transcriptions. This one happens to be quite difficult to read but it definitely looks more like Silvester than Schessler.
p.s. I think son James is possibly 3 weeks not months.

I am tidying up a part of my tree and found some census info [received from a respected poster some time ago], that I want to print out. It doesn't matter what I do, I can't find it!!!
It is for 1851 Loughborough census for Nottingham Rd, Loughborough.
Joseph Silvester 38 Hawker b Loughborough
Priscilla Silvester 30 b Ilkeston Derby
Joseph W Silvester Son 2 b Loughborough
James Silvester Son 3wks b Loughborough
Any idea what I'm doing wrong, I've tried all sorts of combinations with no luck. Any tips would be gratefully received
