Please would some kind souls help me find out who occupied an address via the Census's. I haven't as yet mastered how to do it and I am in desperate need of info.

1861 CENSUS CHECK and 1871 CENSUS CHECK please.....

Who was living at: 67 VORLEY ROAD in the District of ST. JOHN'S, HOLLOWAY IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX.

My ancestors were registered as living there when they got married 17/11/1869, but I know they weren't according to the Census's. So who was?

Am ever so grateful. g.

Gaynor,

You can only search by address on the 1881 census.

The addresses given are often for convience allowing the couple to be married in the parish.

This thread is worth a read about address searching on the census

Might be easier to give the names etc

Just checked on FMP and Vorley does not get any matches in 1871 census or 1861

Thankyou for all your info/suggestions.

Names: RI'CHARD HACKWORTH and CHARLOTTE HACKWORTH nee HODGES (sometimes appearing as HODGERS - as on Marriage Certificate).

They had addresses in Norfolk, Bedfordshire etc on Census records at time of marriage so getting married in London, I wondered who they were staying with as I have no-one on my tree in that area.

Would someone help me do a 1881 Address check?

Thankyou. g.

Note to: SJH

Just looked at recommended thread offered by Glitter Baby and it's one of Jonesy's. It says that most Census's can be accessed via an address so I'm off to follow his advice.

Just thought it would be useful to clarify that.

Thankyou for your help anyway. g.

I think it's spelled Vorly Road in 1871. FMP iseems to be missing the image ,but it's on Ancestry-uninhabited.
