Is it possible to view the previous or next page of the census records on GR? If I find a family that is continued from the previous page or onto the next page, is it possible to view the entire family page? If an ancestor is found and the entire family is not shown on the same page it is very difficult to identify the members without this feature. Maybe I've been missing something on this site but I've been on it for a year and can't figure this out !!!---- Thanks

you cant span through the census pages on GR you have to know the names on the next page to call them up .unlike Ancestry where you can view each page one after another

I have never tried them on here, only on ancestry or find my past. If you let me know who they are, I'll look at the transcription on the next page for you on another site.

Thanks for the offer. I have found this on a couple of occasions and thought it was not possible unless the names are known. I don't have the paper in front of me at this time but will inquire about it when the situation arises if I think I need to find the other family members. Thanks again.

thanks to all for the information on this subject. Very useful. I have had this problem a few times - am thinking of subscribing to ancestry as well - many thanks again

Unfortunately many people will tell you that Gold membership on GR is not that helpful

in fact, many of us consider it a waste of money!

You get much more by dropping down to the Standard membership on GR (£9.95 for 6 months), and taking out a subscription to ancestry (my personal favourite) or findmypast.

It is generally believed that GR does not actually carry any official records, (such as censuses, bmds, etc), but instead just re-directs you to other sites.

You may have noticed that the 1881 census is not found on GR ....... that's because you can see it for free on www.familysearch.org

Thanks for this insight. I do use familysearch for the 1881 census. I will look at the other sites as well.

Just looked at the membership I have and don't see where one moved to another subscription plan.
