After a conversation with my brother regarding our great grandfather who died in WW1 I decided to google his name in the hopes that something would come up. We were already aware that his death was mentioned in the war diary of his commanding officer but to my amazement a site came up mentioning the medical officer who tried to save his life after he was injured. It appears that my great grandfather's name is mentioned in the diary of General James Jack called General Jack's Diary by John Terraine. As I am in Australia it has been a little difficult in the past to find out information regarding my great grandfather but we have put together some information. Now the thought of him being mentioned in a book is very exciting.

Never underestimate the power of googling. It's amazing what can come up.
