Thanks InspectorGP,
The answer was staring at me once it was pointed out, this will teach me to look at certs in more detail in future.
Thanks

Again, the date of registration on the cert is key to finding the entry. If there is only one possible for the qtr then you are in business.

Hi Mummy Bear
Brilliant !!! Column 8 is the answer, reg date 20th July, but I wouldn't have realised without you.
Thanks for your help

Yes, MB you have beaten me to it. The date of registration is in column 8 on the cert. You are fortunate as this will tie it down to an entry in the Sept or Dec qtr. If the two registrations had been in the same qtr then it wouldn't have been possible.

Hi
Thanks for your response, I have many certs that have been passed down in the family i.e. not ordered from G.R.O. Any ideas?

Just a thought - was the date of registration? (Column 8 on the cert) that might help

Molly

When you ordered it did you get an email confirming the order - it would have had the year month vol page reference etc.

I am in the process of adding postems to B.D.M. Is there a way of
identifying a birth cert to a B.D.M entry? I have a B/C for someone born 21/6/1872, when I look on B.D.M there are two possibles, one reg in Sept, 1 reg in Dec. Seems a shame if I can't pass on any details, but is there a way of doing it ?
Thanks
Molly
