Hi all, I've downloaded an original household schedule for 1911 and tried to email it to a relative. She hasn't got the right viewer to read it and I can't remember how I got mine.

Can some super-whizz advise please?

Thanks

Margaret

Don't forget to send the file as a jpg.

Thanks Sue, I already tried that, but according to me the viewer needed is the djvu viewer and I can't see any reference to it on the Lizardtech site.

EDIT How do I send it as a jpeg? It isn't saved as a jpeg and I can't see any way to convert it.

Print the census image off, scan to your pc in MY PICTURES and then send it jpg.

The reason she can't open it is because your sending it as a djvu file.

had the same problem as you had but friend had already got Lizard Tech Viewer on her pc.

So I started scanning the images and sending jpg from My Pictures only way she could get the images.
sending them

Well, Sue, that seems the easiest, I should have thought of that.

The others involve technical stuff that I don't think she can cope with.

Dead obvious when you think of it.

Thanks.

Try IrfanView. You can open djvu files and save them as jpegs (or many other types if you prefer). You can even convert a whole batch of them in one go quite easily if you have lots to do. It can also convert many other types of graphic files too, so a good all round bet.
