On the LDS site is a marriage 1829 James Kellett to a Martha, there is no maiden name for Martha, was it common practice not to put the womans maiden name then or could it just be illegible on the records.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Best wishes Maurice.

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 17 Apr 2010 11:46

That is a submitted record, so not taken straight from a parish record, but perhaps Martha was shown with him on a census or similar.

Her surname will be shown on the original register.
Did the couple have children after 1837?
Maybe that would be a way of finding her name, ie. through a birth certificate of their child.
