I am trying to find a death record of David Harrison who died when his ship was blown up around 1940. I have check the CWGC and couldn't find his name there. He was born around 1922 in county Durham, around West Pelton.
Does anyone have any ideas as to where to look next. If there was a body it would have been sent back to his family, wouldn't it? If not, what would happen? Thanks for any help.

I don't understand why he wouldn't be on CWGC. Do you know if he was navy, merchant navy or civilian?

No, I don't. I couldn't find a David Harrison on there showing Durham, or his parents John and Mary.
