One of my ancestors, William Munning and his wife Mary Ann Pye, spent a short period in New York State, where their eldest daughter, also Mary Anne, was born c. 1857. By 1859 they were back in London when their son was born. We have found William and Mary Ann on the passenger list of the vessel taking them to the U.S.A. but cant find them on the return trip. Do passenger lists exist for vessels comming to the U.K.? and on their return would they have to register the birth of their daughter? Also any suggestion on ttracing the birth certificate, baptism etc. in Albany , New York?

Vital records registration started in New York State outside of New York City in 1881.
