So if I have researched this correctly the grandchildren Mary and Sarah were staying with both sets of grandparents in 1871/1881

I am at a total loss trying to find their father Thomas King. Any help really appreciated because I have scrambled my brain and don't know how to progress.

Thanks

Sue

Finding their grandparents in 1861 might help - if Thomas is their son he might be with them.

I see from the 1871 that James was born in Dublin and Frances in Belfast - possibly they were still in Ireland in 1861, which would complicate things!

Have found James and Frances in 1861 - no son Thomas but there is a William and there is this marriage:

KING William St Olave 1d 46
WARSOP Sarah Ann * Olave 1d 46

Thank you that marriage looks spot on, I'll look in a moment.

Thomas seems to be hiding himself which is so annoying. It would be helpful to have a clue as to who his wife was!

I suppose it is possible if Mary's father was completely estranged from her she might have the wrong name and it could possibly be William?

Your thoughts please. Thanks

Sue
