Does any body know where the death records are kept for Popes Lane Colchester in 1926 & after.

they would have the usual GRO ref .

I agree with Shirley that they should be recorded in the GRO Death Index in the normal way.

The records for Colchester Poor Union are indexed on Seax http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk but (using search term of Colchester AND Workhouse AND Death) it looks as only one register for deaths survives.

G/Co W10 Register of Deaths 1940-1942

If you enter Colchester AND Workhouse in the search facility there is a 7 page index so you may spot something relevant.
