Does anyone know if this Church is covered on Ancestry London Parish records, I have been searching for ages for a marriage I know took place there in 1918.
Thanks Gill

browsing Westminster borough and St George Hanover Square only brings up years from 1800 to 1832 on Ancestry, so looks like they are incomplete

try National Archives Access 2 Archives to find out where the records are kept

Thank you Helen. I will try the National Archives. I got all excited thinking I would be able to just print it off, saving a lot of money and time, as I have done with other London parish records, Oh well never mind.

Perhaps if you put the details on here someone may be able to help?

From GENUKI it appears that the records are in the City of Westminster Archives Centre. So far as I am aware nothing from this archive is available on the internet.

Thank you everyone, just found the website and the church is closed for essential repairs from 26 April till October this year. The marriage I am looking for is June qrt 1918 Lily Forrester & Harry Attwood, I am very curious as to why they married in London, Lily was born in Newcastle Staffs and was there till at least 1915, unless it was war work possibly.

Gill, the record you have found is from the Registration District St George Hanover Square (Apr-Jun 1918, St George Hanover Square 1a 1023). That is a civil registration district, not the Church. The civil registration district contained many churches, not to mention a register office and other places of worship, so the Church records may be of no use. Perhaps you will need to buy the certificate.
