Derek, ha,ha. Well you know, this is Derbyshire. Always behind the times, we are. Knowing the amount of work you do for others, up at Matlock, I had to smile to myself. In the nicest possible way, of course. Keep up the good work.
Pity mine are all from Northants, or I am sure I would have you doing the biz. for me.

If you are taking photographs of the screen a small tripod helps keep things sharp by stopping any movement.

You should also ensure the camera is in "Macro mode" for what is essentially a close up.

This gives a nice square photo with clear results..... just try it on your computer screen to see the difference.

That sounds a quick and easy way of recording alot of information. I've seen people taking photographs at a Record Office, but never persued how to go about this... Thanks.

When we went to Southampton, we were allowed to take photos of Merchant Seamen cards, ..Free. The big plus for us was OH.seeing a photograph of his grandfather for the first time.

I have a digital camera and by buying a camera permit at the Dorchester History Centre for £7.50, can take photographs all day.

By using the larger viewer to trawl through say marriages for example, I can find the entry and then increase it in size to the largest it will go.
I then take a photo of the screen and it can then be transferred to my pc to print off.

A lot cheaper than paying for a single photocopy and I can take photos of entries that might not be mine but need investigation
