Hello folks, it's me, Cynthia. I've lost my name during the changes to this site.
How are you all finding it now? Lots of complaints going around. Have you seen the new Help Clinic up on the top left? Causing quite a stir it seems.
I haven't heard how my friend with the bypass is so I hope his son phones me in the morning.
Had a nice lunch out with my friend but bit the side of my tongue whilst crunching crunchy toast and now have a large blood blister! It hasn't stopped me talking though!
Got a few more Christmas presents today - I just need to get round to wrapping them up.
Broke the arm on my specs yesterday so had to trot off and get them fixed. Ended up with new frames - luckily still under guarantee. I am forever talking them on and off which must weaken them.
Off to bed now. Hope someone pops in soon. Nice to see you Dorothy.
Take care, Love. Cx.

Hi Dorothy
Nice to see you
I hate these new changes!
I've sent 3 emails to complain so far
They've made the response boxes wider, which means that they no longer fit alongside the listing of board names as they used to .................. so I have to scroll way way down to even find the darned thread, and I have to do that every time I change pages.
Bah Humbug!
Glad you got new frames C, you were lucky ................ I'm usually told that the lenses won't possibly fit in another frame, so I hav eto get new lenses as well!!!

Hi Everyone
I hope my name comes up Ok
Sylvia I am with you,I hate changes why do they have to fix things that are not broken.
Cylvia I am always biteing my tongue, the OH says it isbecause I talk to much too. I can't see a help Clinic on my left hand Screen but then that might not be unusual as My Dads cousin has only just left to go home . He spent so much time on my computer and has changed a few things so it is taking me a while to get ride of a few things he did.
Anne the main Snakes in Wa are Tiger Snakes and Duegiuts I think it is spelt that way sorry. I have nearley stepped on a Tiger Snake twice I must admit it did scare me I am very wary,we have to be carefull going out in the forest getting firewood when it warms up.
It was a hot one today 37c needless to say I stayed inside with the aircon on,it is 8.30 at night and it is still 30c outside that is.
Well I am going to make a good stiff drink,so nice to have my house and computer back.
See you all tomorrow ,have a good weekend. Suex
EDITE Sorry forgot we do also have Brown Snakes, inland in the hotter Areas, they are very deadly, one killed my brothers dog 5yrs ago he lives inland in Toodyay Wa
Ah Just seen the Help Clinic ,must get my eyes checked again

Good idea Sue - think I will join you - anyone else for a G & T with ice & lemon
Nice to see Dorothy pop in - come back and tell us some more about yourself.
Wet & windy again today - could do with some of your weather Sue.
Frank would be proud of me - just managed to fix my dvd problem on the computer - after spending over £100 I didn't need to spend. All it took was a trip to UTube and an hour or two reprogramming the computer. OH swearing in the background about the waste of money when I could have fixed it a few months ago if i had used the internest.
He forgets I am the one who ends up spending time trying to fix the computer myself. As he said he would have lost patience & got rid of the thing a long time ago.
I just relish the very good friends I have here on this thread & how lucky i am to have found you all.
Hopefully some of the others will be back with us again soon - I miss our chats & friendly banter.
Working tomorrow - so may not be able to pop in & we are at the outlaws on Sunday - just for a change - so will try and pop in sometime on Monday - as I really want to spend some time doing my tree on Monday if I get the chance.
Sue I will worry everytime you go out in the woods now - my aunt moved to Queensland back in the 50's she had only been there a couple of weeks - went to her pantry picked up the cheese dish & found a snake curled up behind it. When my mum told me that story it stayed with me for life. I met her for the first time a few years ago - first time back in the uk in over 40 years. she said she was glad when they left Queensland - too hot & too many creepy crawlies for her. She lives in Hervey Bay now in a retirement village - sounds a wonderful place - she is in her 90's now.
Well back to NCIS and a last look at the new GR - see what else they have managed to change
Take care all - see you later

Hi all
what a mess this all is!
Anne ...... Hervey Bay is a lovely place
In fact, I've just heard that my favourite second cousin (only 6 years younger than me) and her husband will be moving to a new retirement village there in the next week or so.

Well done with your computer Anne. I sometimes feel guilty because I don't make use of all the facilities and gizmos on here.
I wonder where Frank has got to these days?
My friend has come through his op okay and I am waiting to hear from his son for the latest update.
My name came back briefly and then promptly disappeared again - as Sylvia says, what a mess.
Feeling a bit lightheaded because I have had my hair cut this afternoon - so a bit 'shorn the sheepish' hahaha
I wonder how Reece is getting on these days.......it will not be easy for her and her family over the Christmas break.
How is life in the shell this wet weather Robert? Hope there are no draughts creeping in. Do please wave at us occasionally so that we know you are alright.
I've been spending some time on Ancestry updating all census reports etc. I wish I was better at searching so that I could help in that way. Maybe I just need more practice.
Going for a little mooch around.
Love to all. your invisitble friend. Cx

Hi Everyone
Frank sorry to hear that,we just had a day of 35c all day long then about I hour ago it started raining. You can see the steam coming up off the driveway. Very strange weather,as the night goes on it is getting colder and colder. It is 7.46 pm and it is still a little light outside.
We went up to Perth today just to do some visiting and ddrop in on Dad,he is doing well.
OH is not so good .in a lot of pain with his shoulder and neck, see's the Physio on Monday ,he gets a lot of releaf when he goes there. The Doctor has put him on a program now for Cronic Disease Management. He gets 6 free Physio Treatments for free paid for by the goverment every year. That will save us so much money and his Doctor now Bulk bills him ,that means before when we went to the Doctor we paid $64 for the visit and we got back $32 from the Goverment funded medical system over here.
Now they send the bill direct to the Goverment Dept for Medical and they pay all of it for us. This getting old is not to bad afer all.
Anne I have heard lots of stories of Snakes in peoples houses,we also have goanas I kind of lizard they are everywhere too ,I don't think you would like it on second thoughts I think I might come back to the Uk.
You kind of learn to live with them, they wont bite you if you leave them alone.
Must be time for a drink.
See you all tomorrow

Hi Robert,
Message received and understood.
Hope you have a lovely christmas and come through the holiday break unscathed.
I'm sure there will be some here who shall remain unnamed, that will attempt to dig you out with christmas carols and roasted chestnuts but you may rest assured that I shall not raise your hackles or quills by interrupting your hibernation.
I would hope that she who is not named will respect your request for solitude unless she is accompanied by a carry out .............
I see the "STARRY PEOPLE" have given Sylvia the b*ms rush by deleting her suggestion that GR are operating outwith their T&C. I quite agree with your point Sylvia and was surprised that they rubbed you out but at least you still have your name.
.........what on earth has "she who must not be named" done to warrant being removed.
Could this be identity theft by another name ;))
Aarrgghhh,
Just received our first christmas card...........has the world gone absolutely mad as it's only the 20th November !!
At this rate Jesus will have been crucified and resurrected before he was born......................

Hi all
Robert ................ stay safe and warm!
Frank .... thank you for the sympathy re them erasing me. I will not be defeated!
Sue ........... I go to Physio every 3 weeks, but have to pay the whole bill myself. However, we can then claim it on our income tax at the end of the year as Medical Costs.
Anne ..... heard yesterday, second coz has just become a grandmother for the second time (but by a different son), was helping with the new baby, and had left her husband at home to finish off the packing. They move to Hervey Bay on Monday (tomorrow)!
Big shock overnight
woke up to
.................... about 7 cm of snow!
still about 4 cm of it lying around ................... and as the temperature is forecast to continue to fall, I guess that it will lay there for several more days.
"They" are talking about -7C as the high on Tuesday
I may just join Robert in his hibernation!

I still have had my name returned to me..................wail.........
Had a busy morning today. One of my older friends and her husband have been left without heat over the weekend. They have had a problem with their gas supply which can't be fixed till Tuesday. They are both in their middle to late 70's, not very well and are obviously feeling the cold. Fortunately, I have a spare electric fire in the garage so I whipped over with it this morning before I was due somewhere else. I just can't understand why they have been left without heat though.
The weather forecasters are telling us that our temperatures are going down this week too.................I have gone into a depression.
It will be interesting to see how this site develops over the next few days, but I do wonder if the Clinic will continue. I was thinking about all the talented researchers we have on here who can't get their teeth into any of the postings on that board. Hey ho. Time will tell.
Hope you have all had a good weekend. Love. Cx

Well well - gets more like Harry Potter on here every day.
Things vanishing - moving threads (instead of Staircases) - weird & wonderful items - people in shells - now "she who must not be named" sure i can find some more items as I think about it.
Sue hope your OH is out of pain soon - I know what it feels like - I still have my trapped nerve in my neck which turns into a headache nearly every day.
Sylvia at a risk of sounding rude - but not meaning to - and in the nicest possible way - you can keep your snow in Canada.
Robert - you have to pop out of your shell now & then & we wouldn't want to miss your birthday - so we have to disturb you on the odd occasion.
Frank - I did what I should have done a long time ago - googled the problme - it seems its a very common one - it may be only a quick fix but it worked - and I have to admit - I don't use the DVD RW very much theses days - If I had thought about it before - I could have saved a lot of wased cash - but never mind - we live & learn
Frank I am very greatful for all your help & the other kind souls who are out there trying to save us money by posting info on the net.
My thoughts often turn to Reece and how she is - I think back to my own first Christmas without my mum - it was also mine & John's first Christmas together. Which is how we wanted it - just the two of us & I could have a little weep or misery if I wanted it - It didn't work - Family offers came out of the woodwork - people I had not seen in years offered to have us for the day & friends - we just couldn't get time on our own. I know it was meant well - but it came at the wrong time.
Evelyn - saw the message on the help line - very uncalled for - it was a good idea
Can someone enlighten me - this "Help Clinic" seems to be causing more agro than its worth - On a purely personal thought a lot of people seem to think this is another version of "trying to find thread" surely this is not what it was set up for. I think GR needs to rearrange a few things and set up a better guideline - It looks like some areas are taking things a bit too much to heart - i always thought family tree research was a gentle art.
won't ask why you were deleted Sylvia
Lady V (she who must not be named) is still trying to do a good turn in the world - keep up the good work & you may get your name back
Will pop in again later durning the day if i can
Take care all

Look, I've got my name back!!!
Just a quick visit before bed. Had a lovely lunch out with some old, old friends (as in knowing them, not that they are particuarly ancient!). The husband has a great sense of humour and went to see Ken Dodd at the weekend. He kept us entertained with all the jokes throughout lunch. Good fun. Lovely people.
Hi Anne, it's great fun on here isn't it? Not sure the help clinic will last long. When you think how many clever members we have on this site, it seems a complete nonsense.
Sylvia knows full well what she can do with her snow.
Poor OH has conjunctivis and is peering at me in a pathetic manner so I had better disappear. Night all. Cx.

#Sue too early for Chrissy decs - its not thanksgiving in US yet
Well I tried the help clinic with one of mine - didn't realise they could only use GR - FMP & SP - I have already used those - I thought they were the sort of people who had all the sites the expensive ones - no wonder no-one came back to me with anything. It gives you such hope
A very helpful member - not part of the Starry brigade - found something for me which was wonderful so sent me a PM - it was so nice
As I said isn't this just another "Trying to find" board under another name but not using the regular sorter outers.
I really don't think they should have dealt with Evelyn the way they did - it was very bad manners and very upsetting not just because she is an elderly lady either.
Anyway less said about that - I hate the new time thing on GR - bring back the actual time - its so annoying - I think we should set up a petition to bring it back to the old way again of time and mins.
I think the old saying - "If it ain't broke don't fix it" should be be applied a lot of the times.
Well getting off my soap box now - I am sure I can find plenty more to say if I had the time and they didn't pull the plug on me.
Back to work - Take care all
