Where is everyone - buried under the snow keeping warm?
Well slid down the hill to work today - still iced up here - but the sun is out and the snow is sliding of the roof tops.
I may be able to go away next week after all - I do so hope so
Robert we hope to be driving up towards your shell
Cynthia i would stop by on the way home but its the other side of the country
Hope its not too hot over in OZ & NZ
Evelyn sunning yourself in the garden again then?
Frank - hope you are keeping your wee furry beastie indoors in this weather - don't want him getting lost in the snow covered heather.
I miss our stories from our roaving reporter & the lady with high heeled sandals.
Well better go back to the grindstone - too many things to do & not enough time to do it in.
Take care all - keep warm

Brrrrrrr....it was supposed to be -12 last night but didn't stay out to find out!
We have an icicle about 15" long hanging from the exposed boiler pipe and chunks of ice have been popping out of the drain from the bathroom.
No snow but v.cold. We may get some snow tonight ..........but hope not.
Hope you can make your weekend away Anne - you deserve a break.
Evelyn is probably hibernating with Ron in front of the tv - hope she is keeping well.
Frank has disappeared in the snow this week..........Scotland has really been ravaged with the weather. Well, if one will live north of the border..!!!
Ven. Robert is tucked up nice and warm hopefully.
I have two more trips out to make whilst I ferry my daughter around but would prefer to stay indoors quite honestly.
Keep warm friends. Cx

Cynthia, a 15" icicle in your bathroom...........
Up here in Scotland we use them for our morning shower and I'm sure that in order not to miss out, Robert has imported fresh supplies from Edinburgh.
By the way, I'm wearing my maxi length kilt these days to protect my wee furry beastie ;))
I was at work Monday & Tuesday but managed to fall off once. Had Wednesday off as the snow was too heavy to ride in and Thursday the bike was totally covered in six inches of snow and frozen solid so it wouldn't start. Couldn't get our Transits free for long enough to rescue me so I had another day off, returning on Friday but fell off once again. At least the snow is soft.............
Still a lot of snow lying up here but at least the main roads are clear unlike the rail network where all trains have been cancelled off north of Glasgow & Edinburgh.

Hi Everyone
Sorry to hear everyone accept Susan is getting blanketed in Snow and Rain.
Here it is another beautiful sunny day and 20 Celsius at 10am.
Have a busy day ahead as I start my Christmas Baking today, I like to make little Christmas mince tarts, Shortbread and Almond cookies which I give as gifts.
Anne you tell us how stressful your job is but I am starting to wonder!! With all The outings, luxury lunches and food treats I think I could handle that stress no problem, it sure beats handling grubby Gucci suits any day. Shame your job is on the over side of the world, otherwise I might be applying for a job over there.
Well this is not getting my baking done, must get off this darn computer and do some work,
Keep your selves warm and stop hassling poor dear Robert let him enjoy his solitude. If you want to say happy birthday to someone It's my Birthday this coming Thursday 9th. Catch you all later Josie

Hi Everyone
I am sure I posted yesterday but it does not seen to have come up,O'well I will do it again.
You all sound so cold I feel for you all,it was cool here today for a change but no fear the heat will return of that I am sure.
We have had pictures on Tv of the snow in the Uk,Scotland seems the worst hit ,I don't remember those type of temps as I was a child when I lived in England 16yrs old when I left for Australia. We always thought it was fun then and the snow did not bother us but now it would I don't think my old bones could stand it .
We have just got home from Chrissy shopping ,I am getting a few things together now. Going to have a nice hot bath with a glass of red wine, bugger the Migrains sorry about the French. Suex

Heating went off again last night! I took a broom to that 15" icicle because it was clogging the pipe. Am now a qualified boiler engineer....lol
Poor Frank, falling off his bike like that. Is that how you lost your two front teeth then???? If you landed on your sporran, it would have been a very soft landing. Long kilt indeed.....!!
Josie.....you know Robert loves a bit of hassle now and again. It helps to keep him fit you know!
Enjoy your wine Sue..........hope you avoid a headache.
Daughter is with her brother today so I am at a loose end and keep feeling I should be doing something. Hope I don't remember what it is when it's too late............
Am going to get some presents wrapped whilst it's quiet here.

Woke up at middnight - very loud wind - snow dissapearing - by 5am handful of snow left.
We had a torrential hailstone shower around 11am - all snow officialy gone from Brighton
Stayed an extra hour at work as manic
Josie I am sure I can find you a job here - we get the little extras because we get so stresses.
However I don't let the stress get to me - I let it wash over my head now - you can only do so much.
Only thing that stresses me out is seeing my hard earnt money flying out my bank account.
Looks like we may be able to have a weekend away next week weather wise.
Happy birthday in advance Josie - just incase I vanish like the proverbial bird.
Frank you should take more care - not getting any younger - two little grand kiddies need their grand da around
As for the wee beastie - I think someone is feeling a lot better
Nice to have the saucy side back
Cynthia - I can think of a few things you could do
Sue - enjoy the wine - mid the headache
Sylvia - hope you get all your goodies before your trip.
Robert - I don't believe all this sleeping - bet you were out with the snowball throwing
Its 1640 and I last eat proper food at 7pm last night - had a couple of kitkats & a yogurt - so we are going to trat ourselves to a chinese take away - both feel so worn out.
Walking in deep snow up & down hills really takes it out of you.
Take care all - will pop in again later on

Hi all
Robert ... do you ahve a tartan rug to cover your knees when in the bathchair? We can't have you catching cold you know
I'm really tired tonight .............. I went downtown!
I wouldn't normally go into town on a Saturday in December, but I suddenly realised that I needed some "intimate apparel", as it was listed on the store directory! The store I buy from is right downtown in the heart of downtown
Of course, I ended up wandering around the store more than I had planned
Our temperatures are dropping .... it was close to -2C last night and will reach the same tonight.
It actually was quite beautiful looking out of the bus windows as I went downtown. The downtown is north of where I live, and north of it is the harbour and then the mountains start rising from the water on the other side ...... they were covered with new snow. There was a bright blue sky, and the sun was shining!
I love looking at those North Shore Mountains (as we call them) ......... from 5 miles away!!

Hi Everyone, Only got half of my Christmas Baking done yesterday, With 24 cel outside and 28 cel in my kitchen with the sun streaming in and the Oven on it just was to hot to be bothered.
Finished up spending 4 hours fiddling with my computer when I could not get on the net, It was not until my Son got home and checked out his computer, I realised the fault was with our Internet provider not me.
It was most frustrating but a least it gave me an opportunity to do a bit of spring cleaning in the computer as I tried to figure out what was going on.
Today was windy and overcast but still around 20 cel had planned to do some more Baking when I got home from Church,
But got an urge I have not had for a couple of months to do some more family research and try to take my maternal great grandfather's family back a few Generations,
Not easy when the Surname is Wright the First name is William and he was born in Dartford, Kent the family seemed to move around south London a lot so it is like trying to find 'John Smith 'as London at the time I am looking was brimming over with William Wright's.
While I have had not success with William so far, I have made some progress, with one of his Sons who I found in the 1881 census he had a daughter who lucky for me married a Randall Hipgrave so much easier to find when you have a weird name like that.
What I really should be doing is writing out my Christmas Cards, maybe to morrow night ha! Ha!
Sylvia do try and get some rest before you leave so you can enjoy your holiday.
I am glad to hear that you are behaving Robert and hope you are bundled up well in Tartan Rugs.
As for you Frank glad to hear the Snow is soft, but I hope you have no more falls of your bike.
Ann I have always had a mental Picture of Brighton being all sea and Sun, hard to imagine you get hail and snow!!
Cynthia hope your Heating is behaving and congratulations on your new qualification LOL
Well another fun day at the Dry-cleaners awaits me tomorrow so must head off to bed. Sweet Dreams everyone, catch you all later Josie

What a diverse lot we all are - computer engineers & boiler engineers - just to name a couple
Wonderfully sunny day - then the mist set in & we had a heavy frost on the cars before 5pm tnight.
At the moment I have a very large marmalade cat attacking my fingers as I try & type - very large ginger paws keep tyring to give me a swipe - far too interested for his own good.
Robert - was that you I saw on the local news (we can pop in on your area with Sky) Elderly man of undisclosed age seen on his great grandsons toboggan - I knew I was right about the snowballing
Sylvia - I bet its lovely downtown with all the Christmas lights.
Josie I had a wonderful vision of the sun streaming through your kitchen window.
I have some lovely views of Brighton with the pier in the background & snow on the beach
We need to PM each other our email addresses so we can exchange cards this year - esp those off on their travels.
Fingers crossed we can go away this weekend.
Sue how was the head after the red wine?
Cynthia hope you kept warm all weekend - no more icicles lurking around.
How are the bruises now Frank - I hear Glasgow is heading for more of the white stuff.
Any way must away need to see who is out of Strictly this week - wonder if they will keep Widdy in for the 3 dances next week
Take care all - keep warm

Hi Everyone
Nice cool day today so I got a lot of my ironing done .
Robert if I was over there I would be out in the snow playing snowballs ,well for a little while anyway.
A busy weekend again but we are back on our own again until the next lot of visitors roll up.
Going to star my Christmas baking tomorrow,I have everything for the Christmas cake but I buy my puddings now and my fruit mince pies can't be bothered making them anymore it works out cheaper to buy.
We have a cold Christmas dinner here,I have done a roast at times but that is only if we know we are going to have a cool Christmas day . Still cook a Turkey though, and buy a cooked leg ham on the bone,I can see a few kilos going back on over Chrissy. I must be strong.
Anne no Migrain this time ,funny I have not had one for a few months now,I still don't really now what starts them off. Good Idea about the Pm Christmas messages,I will be in it
I have just posted off my Uk cards ,hope they all get there some years they don't make you wonder where they go .
Better get back to my local cards ,I hate the job but the OH never wants to help with that he says it is a women job even for his own side of family.
Chaeck in later. Suex

There must have been some dip in the temperature last night as we have icicles again. A bucket of water out there is frozen absolutely solid. The central heating had gone off again so I had to perform my mechanical duties and go outside to thwack the pipe with a broom! A whole lot of ice came down followed by the water which had been trapped overnight.
We have just done our cards too Sue. I write them and have now decided that OH can put the little notes we send inside the envelope for me. If he's very lucky, I may get him to seal them too!
Ven Robert, don't forget that women can suss out men at a thousand paces!! A bathchair is no excuse for not playing snowballs. I will hand the snow to you! :))
Must get going I suppose.........
Cx
Don't think I will venture far today as the heating man is coming to fix that doofah. A good opportunity to get some presents wrapped and some ironing done I suppose.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr very cold today - my stupid neighbour poured water over her windscreen this morning & it froze straight away & went all over the road as well.
Well corrie hits the big 50 this week - looks like four funerals & a wedding will be the order of the day - its changed so much since i last watched it - not sure who everyone is these days.
Well Widdy is out now - but it had to happen - won't be the same any more
This week looks fun - Friday - Saturday & Sunday & we are going to be away - typical - I hope the recorder works ok - i can see what i will be watching when doing the ironing. Two get the boot this week - wonder which ones.
I def think Gavin will go - but not sure who else. I would love to keep Scott & Matt in and i think Pamela deserves her slot.
That leaves Kara - I still have no idera who she is & she has not grown on me at all - but i do like Artem & she can dance - just no personality - in my opinion.
It will be sad if Matt or Scott have to go
Oh well back to work - ordering gifts again
Take care all

Hey Robert,
Never mind the Sirens, these women are starting to sound more like the Witches of Eastwick.
..............or maybe not ;)
Another day off as blizzards sweep in over Glasgow and Edinburgh. It started raining at 8.30 am and half an hour later you couldn't see the street for snow ! One hour later and the main roads up the hills both sides of us were blocked with buses and cars stuck fast. Even though the police put cones up closing the roads some 4x4s still tried to go up and had to unceremoniously reverse back down the hill and join the queue around the long way. Looks like we got around 3 - 4 inches in five hours of constant snow fall.......amazing and the Scottish government were proudly praising all the schools for opening, but now the've had to close and a lot of the busses and trains are off again so it'll be pandemonium ! That's the snow stopped now at 2.30 pm but we are heading for -8c in Glasgow tonight.
It's heading south east Cynthia but it looks like missing you lot..

Aye Frank,
You are right about the "ladies". Sirens or Witches , they all frighten me.
Haven't got your snow yet (4.20) but they say it's coming this way, so back in shell until January.
Regards to all.
