Hi all
I wonder why everyone is always so upset at Camilla?
She loves her man, has loved him since she was in her teens. He didn't propose to her before leaving the UK for a year, so she decided to accept the proposal from a second guy
That apparently didn't kill her love, and they re-kindled it.
I have never thought that Diana was the complete innocent that she's been portrayed as. She WAS far too young and starry eyed when she married.
Give Camilla one thing ......................... she's apparently made Charles happier than he's ever been.
and every one needs love
The fact that the boys are friendly and at ease with her seems to indicate that they accept her completely.
lovely sunny day here ........... but I still have this rotten cough and cold. It's a week now since it started!
OH has just left for his meeting, he'll spend a couple of days on the Island, and see our friends while he's over there.
I've cancelled out .... I still feel rotten, and it isn't fair to spread this around any more than I have to!
Take care everyone

Hi Tabitha, I couldn't stand Diana either so we could move into the same shell. What about it? Your place or mine?

We are enjoying being in France, the weather is wonderful, lovely sunshine today. Off for a nice walk along the canal bank shortly then out for lunch, hard life but someone has to do it. I have done all the houswork and am now as free as a bird. We have a fairly constant visitor here, a lovely robin who perches on the veranda and sings his little heart out. Wish you were all here with us and we could all enjoy a lovely walk and chat together. Love to you all Evelyn XX

Decided to pop in - sulk over
Thank you Robert for your proposal - Apart from being a happily married woman (well most of the time) I think we should share our time between shells - what we need now is a third one in between us, so we can break the journey. Anyone else what a shell somewhere in the Peak district for a change.
Appreciate the comments (all of them) - its a free country - lets change the subject.
Do you like the changes on GR to the threads - not sure about my silhouette - we all seem to be male - and they have changed all the thread names AGAIN - i am not opposed to change but really
At least the cost hasn't gone up yet.
Evelyn glad you are having a wonderful time
Sylvia - sorry you are feeling so down in the dumps
Sue this is what you get in the Ozzie Autumn - sounds like a good time of year for me to visit if I ever get the chance - how are the eyes and the drops?
Still manic here - thought it was 10am when it was gone 12 - good that time goes quickly - not good that i have less time to do the work than i thought.
Had a little rain here today - but sun out now - not sure what is going on .
Off to have a mooch around look at the changes - while I have a few mins spare.
Take care all

I have been playing around on our new look site and think the changes are good. It's going to save me loads of time in messaging people which frees me up a bit.
Robert! Well, what can one say? Anne doesn't have time to turn round never mind meet up with you.........but I am sure she would make time of course.....
On the Diana/Camilla/Charles thing, I think Diana - whatever one thinks of her - was very ill-advised all the way round. Charles and Camilla are obviously a devoted couple now and have been since before his marriage to Diana. There have always been 'rumours' that he was with Camilla the night before his marriage and that he and Diana hadn't met all that often. Not a good start for a happy relationship.
Evelyn, you seem to be back to your 'old'....and I use the term lightly.....self again which is lovely.
Sylvia, you are really suffering with that chesty cold aren't you? I can hear you coughing from here!
We could do with some of that rain Sue and it sounds as though it will arrive at the weekend. The gardens are looking really dry at the mo. :-(
Well, a pile of ironing awaits............love to all Cx :D

Go on Robert be a devil - I am sure you take a wonderful photo
Sylvia - Take care -
Cynthia - I am very impressed - you were the first one with a photo & without Franks help
Will pop back in again later on (did no one around)

Come on Ven. Robert. Are you going to take up the challenge and put a picture on here? What about one of when you were a child? I bet you were a real cutie ;-)
Sylvia, enjoy your 'Me' time - but don't go mad :-)
Just had a thought!! I think Frank should put a picture of his sporran on here don't you? Could we stand it? I'm sure we'd cope ;-)
Love, Cx

Hi Everyone, got a surprise when I checked in today, all these changes to the site since I last looked in on Wednesday. Thought our thread had dissapeared again when I could only find Cynthia's one.
Finnaly found us on the bottom of page 2, I think the latest changes are really good.
I have never liked Camila and have just read that her great great grandmother was a mistress of Edward vii. But I did like Diana so will not be joining you Robert and Anne in your Cave.
I finish work on the 14th, still have not found a job, but am keeping positive.
Catch you all later Josie

Hello Everyone, Still enjoying France, raining today and I think we are in for a thunder storm, I can hear rumbling in the distance(at least I think its thunder). Not very keen on the masculine looking image attached to our names on the thread, how does one put a photo on instead? The managers at the campsite have a very large Newfoundland Terrier called Tisca and they now also have a new addition a Newfoundland pup, its brown and rather fluffy at the moment with enormous paws, looks a bit like a brown bear, I was wondering if I ought to offer to take it walkies, maybe not as I think it would go where it wanted to go and not the direction that I would choose, perhaps I can persuade Ron to come instead. Well the rain seems to be easing now and the sun is trying to come out so I must go and make the most of the weather, love to everyone and take care of yourselves Evelyn XX ;-)

Hello friends,
Rain! I can' believe it after so many warm, sunny days. I am pleased though because I won't have to go out into the garden, "spot" watering. I am beginning to wonder if I should think about retiring into a "shell" like Ven, Robert! By the way you could put a picture on of your shell even though you don't want to put one on of your handsome self.
Yes, Cynthia, a picture of Frank's sporran would add something special, too.
On a more serious note - I went to Dorset for Easter where I had a really lovely time with the family. One afternoon my son took me to the tiny hamlet in beautiful countryside where our ancestors lived, and were married and baptised in the the 13thc church during the mid to late 1700's - I found it incredibly moving to visit the church and walk around the lanes there and feel that I have walked in their footsteps.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I'm afraid that I'm not a fan of HRH since he built his toy town of Poundbury!
Best wishes, Rx

Hi Everyone
I was a bit thrown when I first looked at the new site but I am getting used to it ,why does my reply say update your Profile ....I did go to it but there is nothing I can add to it and how do I put a picture on my profile like you all did .
Sorry everyone I am still learning.
Anne the eyes are Ok but they are dry and sore at the moment so I can't wait to get the cateracts done now . The drops are fine just a pain to remember them, always seem to forget until bedtime then it is a mad rush before I go to bed. My eyesight is getting very bad now so I can't stay on the computer as much as I would like ...that will all change in six months I hope .
We have been out to the forest again today getting wood for winter,my little sis in the UK calls me a lumberjack,we do have a lot of fun out there with friends we go with....cakes and a thermos with coffee always does the trick when we need a break.
We did get a good load today but I do have a few sore joints tonight.,a nice hot bath did the trick and of course my trusty electric blanket tonight and I will be a new women in the morning,we try to fill up the wood heap behind the garage before the heavy rains get here ..if they ever do !.
I just heard Paul macartney is getting married again good on him I say ...that terribble women he married before Heather Mills, what a piece of work she turned out to be,only after his money I think...I liked paul when I was a mad beatles fan followed very close by John. That does not seem so many years ago ,O well we can't stop time can we.
Thats it from me giving the eyes a rest, try to come back later. It is lovely to see you back Reece ,I hope you are doing fine ,and Josie I hope things calm down a bit in NZ you guys have really had a tough time of it of late.
Love to eveyone Suex

Alright Susan,
Hold on to my hand and we'll try to guide you through the profile update...... :-)
1. Click on UPDATE PROFILE. 2. Enter your password and click SUBMIT. 3. On your personal details page, click on CHANGE in the Profile Picture. 4. In the "add a photo" box which opens, click on FIND FILES. 5. A box will open asking you to "Select files to upload to Genes Reunited"
This will allow you to browse for the photo which you wish to use by opening document or picture files which hold that photo.
I find it is a lot simpler if you have a lot of photos to find your required photo and move or send it to your desktop (right click the photo and choose send to desktop) Saves you having to browse down through 250 photos in a folder before finding your photo in that tiny little box.
6. in the "Select files to upload to Genes Reunited" box, click on the top arrowed drop down menu to choose DESKTOP or where-ever your photo is hiding out.
In the above case of desktop, you would be presented with everything that is on the desktop allowing you to browse down through all the contents of the desktop until you found the photo which you had left there.
7. Left click once to select the photo then click on open and the file name of the photo will appear in the "Add a photo" box.
8. Click "Send files" ........... job done.
For some reason on Vista, my screen drops off of Internet Explorer and says unable to view but when you go back into Genes, there it is.
That's the grandchildren all on their way home now and it's been lovely although the house is now sooooooo quiet ........ mmmmm. Sophia is now walking and has a mouthful of (very sharp) teeth so our days were spent keeping an eye on where she was going and what she was doing. Our home is totally childproofed now with cupboard catches, door gates, fireguard and all low lying ornaments removed. I plugged the fireguard to our stone fireplace with masonry bolts and just as well as she did her best to remove it .......... yikes. Young Nieve is just starting to crawl and has only popped two teeth so far but she's four months younger.
I think the Right Venerable Robert should retain his air of mystery by keeping his real identity secret. He looks a bit like George Clooney or even 007 with his outline.
Is that really you Cynthia................. Awww.
P.S.
You didn't get sporrans in Central France as they can't swim or fly and are an endangered spieces

Hello Everyone :-)
Nice to see so many friends around again.....hope you manage to get a job soon Josie...don't forget to keep us posted.
Evelyn....you had better hold Frank's other hand whilst he is guiding lumberjack Sue through how to post a profile pic!! What a talented man he is to be sure.......(just bolstering his ego for a minute ;-)
What a lovely experience you have had Reece.....I'm quite envious. I don't live anywhere near where my ancestors came from but would love to walk in their footsteps too. I remember being taken to the village where my maternal grandfather and loads of family came from when I was a little girl. I wasn't in the least bit interested then!
Yes Frank, that is me......and I'm still as cute as ever. More will follow shortly!
If Robert looks anything like 007 Sean Connery, I will be a very happy bunny ;-)
Take care all. Cx

Hi all
Lovely to see everyone on here.
Reece ......... I had a similar experience to you.
We were back in the UK in September 2001 ....... just after 9/11 (in fact, that event delayed our arrival by 2 days as we had to wait until they allowed planes to fly again).
Anyway, we were driving from A to B, when I looked at the map, and realised we were only about 10 miles from the small village where my father's ancestors lived from at least 1720 until the 1940s. There probably are some distant rellies still living there.
OH drove the 10 miles ..... took a bit longer than we thought 'cos they were all teeny tiny country lanes! We walked round the centre of the village, the church was on a little rise with a smallish graveyard around it.
Unfortunately the headstones on the raves were all unreadable, adn the church was locked so that we couldn't go inside.
That village is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, and the church dates back to at least the 16th century. The first vicar recorded was in the 13th century.
We only had a little time there (about 30 minutes), and I would love to go back.

Hello All, We have had very heavy rain overnight and strong winds, rain has now stopped but its still windy. Not going out today, it will be nice to relax and as the youngsters say, chill out. Reece I notice you are researching the name Tizzard, where I grew up in Franchise Street, Weymouth Dorset there was an elderly couple named Tizzard, I am talking 1940s,in the 1950s a grandaughter of theirs whose name I do not know married a lad from Weymouth, his name was John Watch, his sister was a great friend of mine, John came from a large family, I think there were 12 children all very nicely brought up. Well its V E Day today, oh what fun I had on that actual day in 1945 dancing on Weymouth seafront, tomorrow what is known as Liberation day will be celebrated in Guernsey, it is a bank holiday there. Coffee time now , anyone want to join us. Love to all Evelyn XX
