I've had a look and I can't think why this is - the name is identical.

We have an example in the family where there were 4 registrations.

You will not always be able to tell from the index why the birth was re-registered, other than if you can see a name change.

Ordering the cert won't necessarily help either, as if the system is working correctly, you will only receive the latest one, regardless of which index ref you order.

Is every detail on each exactly the same including father's name? Just double-checking!
You have put 2nd one 1985, assume you mean the other way round.

i'm looking at a birth on ancestry and she is there 3 times. i cant give out the name as this person is still living ...
but the first one was done oct 1989 .... then the 2nd one was done sep 1985 then at the bottom of the chart it says re -registration year 1989... then we have a 3rd one . does anyone know why there are 3 birth registrations they all look the same .
