Hi Somerset Girl
The Sarah Jones seems to be a def possibility and the John Jones seems to tick the majority of boxes so I think the only way forward is to apply for some birth certificates and start there....
I think the thing that has thrown me is they are all Jones' and I am unfamiliar with places in Wales :o(
Thank you though so far it really is appreciated

Hi Julie
(apologies for delay)
Marriage cert is April 13th 1927 and is between John Roderick Jones aged 39 years, Bachelor, general labourer and his residence at time of marriage appears to be Troed y Rhiw, Pandy Troduw (can't make outthe last two words clearly), his father was a John Jones who was also a general labourer.
The bride was Sarah Jane Jones aged 31, spinster, residence Penlan llanrwst and her father was a David Jones who was a coal miner.

Hi There
Just need some help pointing me in the right direction please. I am trying to track my welsh paternal grandmother's parentage and although I have her parents names and marriage details I am up againts one of those huge brickwalls with JONES scribbled all over it!
I am checking the census returns and coming up with a huge amount of possibilities and with the names of gret grandparents being John Roderick Jones (born approx 1888 ... think I may have found sth on him) and Sarah Jane Jones (nee Jones) born approx 1896 I am feeling lost!
Is the only way forward to apply for all poss birth certs for this lady or to take a trip to North Wales?
Any tips or advise would be appreciated
Thank you in advance
Marina
