I've got their marriage cert for Maxwell & Audrey Dowling and also Maxwells birth cert from scottish records.

I've just managed to find his mothers birth cert too and her parents names.

What I'm really looking for is how do I find out if they had any other children - if Maxwell had any brothers and sisters - if his parents had other family etc. We really don't know much about this side of the family so at the moment i'm limited as to what i can find out via birth/marriage certificates.

Just wondered if I am missing a trick of how to find out other information??

My Grandfathers name is Maxwell ANderson born in Aberdeen in 1927. His father was David Anderson and mother Edith Anderson. I know they got married in 1911 so just seems a long time in between marriage and his birth.

Maxwell was in the army - Para's stationed in Aldershot from 1951 - 1955. I believe he left in the early 60's but not sure.

There's a possibility he may still be alive - i've searched dearh records up to about 1985 and haven't found him yet??

I haven't investigated my great grandparents dob's yet - that's this weekends job!

I don't mind searching out myself either but just wondered if there were any handy tips or shortcuts that i'm missing

I've only been on GR for a few weeks now and am making good headway into my family tree. I've found out about my Grandfather and who his parents are via ordering birth certificates etc after looking through records. Next step for me is to find if he had any siblings and if he is still alive? Any ideas or handy tips how I do this - the information I have is limited as he hasn't been seen since my mother was about 5 years old.

Any tips would be much appreciated - Thanks
