There isnt on the genes tree the only way is to record his actual birth name with his birth parent/s and then to put in the notes on his page the info of his adoption.

Hi all

I've just started compiling my family tree using the builder on this site. Already I've encountered an anomaly that I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on.

I've discovered an ancestor who was born in a workhouse with one name but was subsequently adopted and changed both forename and surname. Please does anyone know how this is best captured? Is there some kind of convention to show this type of event.

Any help gratefully received.
