Thank you all so much, an annuitant , I can see that now.
As far as I am aware Ann Ford was no relation of the family, I think perhaps as Richard Leivers was a cab driver for his brothers omnibus company in Eastwood , he may have used no 3 Bernard terrace ,Carrington as a staying place as this was close to the Eastwood to nottingham route of their company.

Both Richard and Ann were from greasley in the 1881 census , I suspect they did know each other, perhaps secretly !

But thats another story. Thanks again to all for looking, it was the occupation thing I was looking at and you have solved it for me.

Cheers
Simon

Annuitant could just mean she was living on a pension.

I have a few death certificates where the informant was just a neighbour, or friend of the family.

Perhaps Ann Ford was just a lady in the area who helped with births and laying out the dead - there was often one person in the neighbourhood who people called upon to help with this before people could afford midwives or doctors.

I wouldn't try to read too much into this, It is very possible that the informant was the first person to come across him after he had passed away.

I have a similar situation with one of my ancestors who died having an epileptic fit. The informant turned out to be a neighbour who lived next door but one.

Does the death certificate give the address of where he died? The informant could have been a relative. Maybe she was taking care of him when he died. She was living close to the family at the time of the 1881 census - she was living in the same enumeration district and Carrington where he died is only a short distance from Greasley.

She's an Annuitant, meaning she will be receiving money from a trust left after the death of her husband or another relative.

I have the death certificate of my 2nd great grandad Richard Leivers , he was born in 1854, Newthorpe Greasley, Nottinghamshire.

He died in 1882 Carrington , Nottinghamshire age 28 , he was a cab driver. On his death certificate I was a surprised to see that when he died , the informant was a Ann Ford. At this time Richard was married to Eliza and had four children.

I checked back to the 1881 census, Richard Leivers was mis transcribed as Seivers, but he was with his wife eliza at Newthorpe, Greasley, Notts

I am wondering why he died with another woman in 1882 she being Ann ford. I think this Ann in the1881 census was also living in Newthorpe , Greasley, Notts as Ann Ford b c1837 Mayo ,Ireland.

Would some one please have a look at the 1881 census for this Ann Ford b 1837 Mayo Ireland living in Greasley, notts.
I can not understand what her occupation is, it looks something like accountant, what is her occupation ???

Richard Leivers was a cab driver and travelled on a daily basis from Greasley/Eastwood, Notts to Nottingham city. He died from dysentery/exhaustion , I just can't understand why the informant was not his wife.

To cut this story short , what is Ann ford's occupation please ?

Thanks Simon
