Open your FTM program and click on File / Export

If your daughter is going to install FTM 2010 then export the file in Family Tree Maker Format, if she is using another program then export as a gedcom 5.5 format.

Save the file to My documents or somewhere else where you can find it. Then, in Windows Explorer, drag and drop the file you have just created to copy to your CD

Your daughter must then copy the file to her hard drive, after which she can run her tree program and open the file using File / Import as new tree.. It is not possible for FTM to open it directly from the CD.
