Hello
I am trying to find an Aunt who was placed with another family when she was little... Not sure if she was ever Adopted legally... Another Aunt can remember visiting her sister at the new address...
Molly Kathleen Orme born 1925 in Willesden... But was taken to a house in Chapter Road also Willesden... My Aunt was around 13/14 years old when she last see Molly Approx 11/12 yrs old... Not 100% but its believed she may have been taken aboard to live with this new family...
I really would like some help on this as i'm really unsure where to go... My mum and sisters would love to know what happened to her..

Please Help Me x

As you know the road name, and presumably the other person's name.....

How about asking for or searching in person the electoral rolls until they disappear from that address? Obviously the youngest aunt won't be listed, and there weren't any Rolls during WW2, but it might help you with a time frame.

Obviously if you don't know the foster parent's name or the house munber, that makes things more or less impossible.

I know that in Chapter road the house was not near the shops or flats... one of my aunts that visited molly said it was definately a house...

Have you tried a street search on friends reunited, there may be a member listed who lived there and would know the family.
Good luck,
Liz

I don't know about the other names, but think she was living with Mr Morriss prior to their marriage - they are together on the ERs in 1947, and she was at the same address in 1946 under the name Morriss - he wasn't there in 1946 but may have still been away as it was just after the war.

Their address was 8 Nichol Court, Harlesden.

Added they were living Flat 1, 32 Castelnau, Richmond in 1965

Don't think it's your aunt, this looks like her death:

Molly Kathleen Morriss
Birth Date:7 Sep 1915 <<<
Date of Registration:Dec 1975
Age at Death:60
Registration district:Fulham
Inferred County:London

Definitly not your aunt, this Molly was born as Birthistle in 1915, and married William J Dennis in 1937 - and must have been living with Albert Morriss prior to their marriage to account for the ERs and all the names on the marriage record.

Hi Tracey

On ancestry you can drill down to Chapter Road, which is in polling district Willesden Green Ward. There are a lot of people registered on the ERs, but I looked at 1946 & 47 for a Molly - she would have been 21 by then, but no luck sorry.

Was her father William J - he appears to be in Harlesden from the war onwards, with what I think is your aunt Joan?

Tracey, do you have an exact DOB for Molly? Bit of a long shot, but if she remained in England/Wales and has died (1970-2007) this is recorded on the index, and can be used to search.

Tracey's been at this for a long time, there's a thread on ancestry going back to 2008 in which she says Molly was given to her grandfather's sister as a baby. Granddad being William John (1891). But I can eliminate all the sisters & half sisters (died fairly young) apart from 2:

Mary Ann, born 12/6/1882 (from her christening) think she married Matthew Hill (35, a widower) 15/8/1903.
Harriet Elizabeth 1893 (no date given when she was christened in 1896, along with William John and a half brother) - possible marriage to William Bailey in 1921 but not sure about the marriage.

Think Mary Ann can be ruled out as well, she was living 29 High Road, Willesden East before the war (from the 1920s) with husband and various children as they came of age - including one called Kathleen M, but she was born in 1913 so not Molly. From 1946 they were living 23 Cornwall Gardens, Willesden Green - but no sign of Molly.
