Hi , I have had some wonderful help off people on the boards and wonder how they do it :)
I am trying to find the maiden name of a relative, she married Francis Sharratt and was born in 1828 so the spouse's name is not going to be on the register next to Francis ,So how do you trace it ??

what was her forename and where was she born?

Mary A and I believe Hatton in warwick , Francis came from stafford..

I generally look at the next census after the marriage for both the males and see what the spouse's name is.

Probably during March qr 1864 - Mary Ann Mayfield.

Yes this is them I think, I only had the one child Joseph found as of yet, thankyou :0)

I tried freebmd and it could fine the marriage of Francis but no corresponding one :(

I have managed to sort out and find the marriage of Francis and it is to Mary Ann Duddell, thanks to harry for tracing this for me through igi records :)
