Well, i have had a root around and the 2 pension records i am referring to are....

1, John Brennan - Cork 1877 / Military 1892
Regimental No 8852
Corps Royal Artillery, Aldershot.
Age 15 yrs 8 Mths
Trade or Calling - Nil

2, John Brennan - Cork 1877 / Military 1914
Regimental No 53493
Corps Royal Field Artillery, Reading?
Age 37 yrs 2 mths
Trade or Calling - R M C

I have found the service record that backs up the second one but unfortunatley none of the records give a next of kin, which is a shame because as he is not married, i assume the next of kin would have been a family member!
Am i snookered do you think? Thankyou... Susan

Are you able to use the information on the pension records and find his service records? Does it list which branch of the service he enlisted in, does it give a company or regiment name you could google.

Have you searched Ancestry for his service records. Do you have his service enlistment number?

Hang on I'll have a look. His service records will contain his information which should prove who he is.

OK There are about four to choose from. If you have Ancestry search the military option. If not let me know some more details such as service number, regiment, home address, names of next of kin or occupation and I'll check out each one.

Morning all, on my seach for John Brennan born 1878 Fermoy, Co Cork Ireland, i have found 2 British Army WW1 pension records. Although all the info on both records lead me to believe that they do in fact belong to my John, i wonder if someone could please tell me how i go on to prove it! Thankyou ... Susan
