You are not doing anything wrong. It is simply that this sort of information won't necessarily transfer from GTR via gedcom.

To set your relationship options on FTM, proceed as follows (I am using FTM 2010, but I suspect 2009 looks very similar)

* Select the person concerned i.e. yourself
* Click on the Person View tab
* In the left hand pane under Spouses, select your first husband
* In the right hand pane under Status, select Divorced
* Select your second husband and change the status as required. You might want to leave it as it is, Ongoing To make him your preferred spouse, tick the preferred spouse box on the right hand pane.

I have my tree on GR which shows me as divorced from my first husband and married again to number 2.
I've imported it to FTM 2009 where it shows me as having spouse number one "ongoing - preferred" and spouse number two also "ongoing".
Anyone got any advice as to what I'm doing wrong please?
