Big Ask - sorry

Have just decided to look at a stumbling block from a different perspective - I have a Frances Cheers who married a Joseph Jones in Jun Qtr 1895 Birkenhead. They had a daughter Eleanor Jones in 1897 also in Birkenhead.

I them all from the 1911 census (this is the correct family due to other family members living with them) still in Birkenhead (same house) but need to determine who she (Eleanor) married - Jones is a big name to start searching with so any clues greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Carol

Have you tried looking for Frances in other people's trees?
An unusual name so you might get lucky! And can I ask - did Eleanor have a middle name?

Unfortunately Yes with no luck as yet - am also trying an old contact who I helped with this side of this family a few years ago to see if she has come across anything even though it isn't on her direct line.

Ta anyway

There are only 3 births I can see:

Births Jun 1897 (>99%)
Jones Eleanor Alice Birkenhead 8a 515
Births Dec 1897 (>99%)
Jones Eleanor Birkenhead 8a 474
Births Mar 1898 (>99%)
Jones Eleanor Frederica Birkenhead 8a 480

If you can pinpoint your Eleanor it should narrow it down at least.

Must say i can't see her 1911!

Carol, are you sure that she married? Many of her male contemporaries would have gone to the WW1 battlefields

No I'm not but "praying" she did to help solve the other conundrum. I have tried on GR with the side I really wanted to no avail - he is extremely elusive - so thought I would try from this angle

Yikes

No expert on Jones or Cheshire, so just a few ideas to get the ball rolling

If they adopted the same "life is short" attitude in WW1 as they did in WW2, it might be best looking first at the age 17-21 slot (i.e. 1914 to 1918). If she married at that point, you might well get further info from soldiers WW1 records.

I think that Cheshire BMD have been busy transcribing - not sure whether this period is covered tho'

Electoral roll for the father, to check how long the 1911 address persisted?
