I would be grateful if someone could direct me to a site where I can view an article. My brother died in 1979 and his death was reported in the national newspapers.

Are you talking UK newspapers?

Have you tried googling his name plus the date of his death?

I have tried googling but had no result but that is probably me.
It was in the local and national papers. I was not in the position to take much notice at the time and researching the family tree has made me curious.

Maddie, I can look at The Times for you if you want to give some info.

Otherwise I suggest you contact the local library nearest to where your brother lived and died. E-mail or phone and ask for the Local Studies Officer.

Some will do it for free and just charge for photocopy, others will do half hour search for free and then charge.

I could try ringing the library, to far away to go myself
on 21st january 1979 there was a fatal car crash in Wickford Eseex, my brother and 3 other lads with young families died. The car was trapped upside down in a ditch and they drowned. I have the date of the inqest so perhaps the croners office may help.
Can't remember the ame of the local newspaper, may not even exhist anymore.
