Ordering Death Certificates

Thank you both. I think I will leave ordering it for now and see if another family member can help me out with an exact age. The person I am trying to get a cert for is my great great grandfather even though the death only occured in 1971.

if the age is stated in the GRO record then you can put it in otherwise ignore that section

If a death was registered in the last 50 years you need to put in the age a person was when they died while ordering the certificate.

I have a death registered in the March quarter of 1971 but the persons birthday falls during the three month period that March quarter covers. Should I put down the age that is most likely as his birthday is February 21st?

Anyone had this problem before?
