Same Relation in Different Tree Lines

My parents are related, so I only have 3 grandparent lines instead of 4. I decided which line to use, and put that in the notes, and built on it. The line I wasn't using I didn't take any further back, and made a note on that too.
But I do have other 'intermarriages' in my tree too. I try not to put the same person on more than once, it makes it difficult to find them.

I have this situation, but Family Tree Maker lets you merge them.

I have five people entered in my tree twice but the only time it notices is when I do a search in my tree.
Interbreeding!

I have the same as my paternal grandparents were cousins (could explain a lot!). I just stopped the line on one of them.

OK,

Guess I'll have to live with it, just upsets my anorak mind which likes everything neat and tidy!

Yes, its as SomersetGirl says. In fact I've got two examples of it.

Do you mean you have mistakenly put him where he doesn't belong? Is it a Genes tree? If there are no dependent relatives you can delete him (so to speak!).

Hi,

Just started getting into my family tree and have been busy tracking back relations. I've now found thatI've got the same person in different branches of the tree - if that makes sense?

As I said I'm pretty new to this, and understanding relations has never been my strongest point at the best of times!

Just wondered if this is something that happens and you have to accept it, or is there a way to get round it?

Thanks

Alan C
