Are the 1911 census complete on find my past site?
I just joined with full subscription and have been busy searching for my grandparents, but can't find them. Tried alternative spelling also and thats not worked.

I know what area they should be in and when they were born etc..still nothing!

Thanks

Donna, have you tried doing a freesearch first? That is, as if you don't have a sub. It's much better. I usually do this if I have problems.
Or post details here and we can have a look.
It's complete as far as I know.

Would suggest you try putting in less information, that often works! Or search by first or last name alone, etc. etc.

Hi Jan

Just tried the free search and still nothing.

I have found lots and family members on my dad's side , but to much luck on mum's.
Looking for her mum. Florence Gilbert b 1909. They should be in the Adlington area of Lancashire. Her parents were Walter Gilbert b 1882 and Mary Alice b 1880. There would also be brothers Walter and John. They were born Ashton Under Lyne, Lancs.

Can't find mum's dad either Joseph Wray b 1900 Ashton under Lyne. His father dead ,but mother Annie .

I would be grateful if you could take alook for me. I have found the other family members of Walter in Adlington ie his briother and sister. All very strange......

People may correct me, but I think they 'only' have England and Wales. Ireland is elsewhere, and I've no idea about Scotland!

One of mine is missing as well. Not found despite the assistance of a several experienced people here. The conclusion we have come to is either it has been badly transcibed, or (unlikely) they were strong suffragette supporters and refused to fill it in.

How an earth did you both find them so quick.
Am I doing something wrong when I search? I put a tick in the box for alternative spelling too. Never did a Gobert come up at any time.

Yes thats them in Ashton . The Gilberts. Florrie was born 1909 Adlington so must have come back to Ashton.

I went through the Ray lot also and never saw that one for Joe. The one with his mother on Pitt street is correct. She was from Ireland.

Thanks ever so much . Very grateful. Mum will be pleased.
thanks

Got the Gobert one by doing freesearch and looking for first names plus surname beginning with "G".
The Wrays - did 1st name search and location.
And a large dose of luck!!
Always easier to find other people's families.
