Does anyone know anything of Joseph who was a horse dealer in 1895 and in 1901 was a coach driver. He married Annie Irene Barrow 1859-1911 - we have stories in family of his piracy in coach world can't validate though- any info at all

Have you looked to see if anyone has those names in their tree

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 18 Jun 2010 21:24

well, Pauline

you're not likely to have any one who does know anything just passing by on these boards ... it doesn't work that way

What you have on here are a number of members of GR, just like yoruself, but perhaps wth a bit more expertise and memberships in other sites, who will attempt to find documentary evidence for you.

Julie's suggestion is the best one .... click on Search Trees in the dark green band above, enter Joseph's name and see what happens. Send a pm (private message) to a tree owner if you do find his name.

Have you tried googling his name?

Have you got the details of when and where the "marriage" took place?

There is no record anywhere of the name Annie Irene Burrows - other than a death in 1976

You didn't answer the question about his marriage - where did you get the name of his 'wife'?

Or do you not wish us to try to find info for you?

Pauline Ann

Pauline Ann Report 22 Jun 2010 22:03

I couldn't find a record of marriage - first child, Marjorie born 1895 so I think marriage a bit before then. Annie Irene is confirmed by 1911 census that she filled in and Burrows as maiden name comes from family info
Thanks for advice

You won't resolve this until you get a child's birth cert..................even then, it will depend on the accuracy of the info provided.

Flick I have now great Aunt Marjories birth cert. and you were quite correct - we had the wrong surname - now that I have that (thanks to your advice) I will search myself - it is not Burrows it is Annie Irene Barrow and in 1895 Joseph Turner was a horse dealer so very interesting addition to my knowledge
Thanks
