Has anyone ever come across this name before , or could anyone tell me , where the name is from . its a surname in my tree that married a William James and on the 1841 census where it says "where born" it says foreign parts, but on the other census's it says she was born surrey??

You probably meant 1841. Have you looked at the later images, or just the transcriptions?

On the image in 1822 the image does say Kivenor but as Ellen put her mark rather than signing the cert I would think it could have been mispelt

Hi Det have edited :o).. have only seen the cert of the banns where i found their marriage , Yes K i was thinking that , but when i saw the foreign parts in the census it made me wonder if she was from a different country ,

googled and there is a road in Devon called Kivenor Close - I must say I felt the name sounded Cornish or West Country

Chivenor is down that way I believe

Perhaps it was Scrivenor?

Search Ancestry with *ivenor and see.

It says Jersey in 1851 not Surrey.

There are some Gravenors in Jersey.

thanks all , im still looking around . Rose i can not make out what it says on the 1851 it does look like surrey and jersey lol but on the 1861 it says depford kent confoosed , com . i will try

It's definitely Jersey on the 1851: William and the children are Surrey and it looks completely different to that.
