Hi all
I wondered if you could help. I have a friend's Christening next month and would like to build Bub's family tree. Can anyone advise as to what the best method would be? Do I need to invest in a package? Thanks, Bev

Hi
if you want to present them with a printed tree then you will need a program There are free ones like legacy on the Family Search site but personally I didnt get on too well with it . i have Family Tree Maker 2006 version ,there is a 2010 version now , and i like the format with ablity to make notes and to print a tree from any starting point. It will cost you though and depending how far you want to go back ,and the time involved you may think its not worth paying out.
I,m sure others on here will tell you of their packages that work for them

I have used FTM for several years now and am currently on the 2010 version. It will cost you around £19 for the software and will do exactly what you are asking, plus much more.

I think however, the problem you are going to find is that a month is just a bit to tight to order, install, familiarise yourself with its workings and enter all the data you need.

I use the family tree builder at My Heritage. com It is free and works ok.
