Changing names is far more complicated than my dilemma Sat Nav. Well done you for sorting it out, that must have been a bit tricky!

Thanks for that SatNav. Clarification much appreciated, but father and son have different spellings on birth certs, is that OK to show on the same tree?

Can someone help me please with the best way when adding people to your tree when their surname spelling changes with every official record. For example I have an Andrew Beveriadge in my tree as listed on his birth cert but when he marries the 'a' is missing and he is Andrew Beveridge but on the 1911 census he is again Andrew Beveriadge. Same thing happens to his son Robert, birth is Beveridge, marriage Beveridge, census Beveriadge. Which is the best way to record this? or do you go with the most recent official record?
Thanks for your help
