I just tried to find it in local Reading papers as I thought it might be recorded back here and I tried to Google it but got no joy. Will try the Barbados sites thank you.

Hi thanks, I've tried google. His name was Alan C Smith and he died approx 1974. He was born 1945 Reading Berks. Any help would be appreciated although it is a bit sensitive. Newspaper article would be great but I couldn't find anything not sure what local papers in the reading area are.

depends when it was, it may be on the Times Archive (I think I still have access), or if it was in the 19th century the local newspapers to where he lived in UK may have it (I have access to some 19thC newspapers online)

if you are happy to post full name, approx. dates (or exact if you have them) plus any other info you know then I'll have a look for you

failing that you could google Barbados + newspaper + archive and see what comes up
