Thanks for that mate.Idid google just Bowhouse farm and it came up wiyh a list of tennants that had occupied the farm or had inherited it from the 1400s.But i thought that Bowhouse farm was part of a bigger Estate and it was owned by a Lord somebody, some aristocrat bigwig. My grand mother worked on that farm as a housekeeper or maid to these people. She was only 15 16yrs old ,yr very q uite shy and the master had his way with her(as they say) and boom a baby!! i was curious as to who it might have been she would never talk about it .it was a secret a shame in those days Janice

Hi Janice - the link sometimes didn't work when I tried it. It takes you to an online book on:

History of the county of Ayr : with a genealogical account of the families of Ayrshire (1847)

Just realised the date! However, they tended to inherit large estates - unless the money was gambled away!

if you put the title into the Google search bar, you'll get it.

If you google Bowhouse farm Kilmarnock - it's still there, and looks like a big farm in it's own right.
