Havn`t had a whole tree dissapear, but i have in the past lost names that i knew i`d entered, I`d then enter them again and end up with duplicate entries when the original ones appeared again....!!

In the past children' s names have disappeared, that is they didn't show up under their parents, yet when I put in a search entering their names they appeared. Some sort of glitch I think with the site.

Glad your tree is back.

There was a problem a few weeks ago with children not displaying correctly but this was fixed fairly quickly.

If it is a site problem, then everyone is likely to be affected in the same manner, otherwise it can often be a problem with your PC browser.

When you open a GR tree to view it actually downloads to your web browser, and to do the requires enough space in your browser cache, otherwise it can fail to load fully. Many of the problems that members report with loading their tree or indeed other GR web pages can be avoided if you clear out your browser cache on a regular basis.

To do this you want to remove temporary internet files.

With IE8, the easiest way is to click on the Safety tab , then Delete Browsing History, and make sure the box against Temporary Internet Files is ticked then hit Delete. Don't delete cookles unless you have a reason to do so as you will loose any saved settings on your favourite websites.

With Firefox choose 'Clear recent history' from the Tools Menu, click Details and ensure the Cache is cleared. Again don't delete Cookies unless you have good reason.

Better still install a program such as CCleaner and run it daily. If you do install CCleaner then you need to whitelist the sites you use regularly to ensure that cookies for those sites are not deleted too.
