What information can I see on an electoral roll?
How do I search on it? Do I use the surname or do I have to know an address?
Are they available on line?

I would just add that the recent on-line electoral rolls are searchable by name as the names have been scanned and indexed.

The are much cheaper options - just Google search electoral roll

For Example TraceSmart is offering personal searches for as little as £3.49 for a monthly subscription

They hold the edited Electoral Rolls from 2003–2010, which excludes Electoral Roll registrants who have chosen to remove their details from the public register.
