thanks, the workhouse site took me to various dundee sites which i`ve already visited so nothing new--back to the drawing board!

Have you looked on the workhouses site? Look here if not:-

and put Dundee into the search box.

It appears to me that they were separate buildings - but I am not certain about this.

please can anyone with a knowlege of Dundee tell me about the Dundee poor house? i have googled it and there seems to be an east poor house and a west--were these wings or seperate buildings? john campbell a baptist minister was chaplain there from 1894-1933, he was also chaplain to the parish council so i think he may have had more than a two line obit. notice in a newspaper might i be able to look for it somewhere? i already have his obit. notice from the baptist union.
thanks to the people who helped with my previous query, i can`t always get back to the board very quickly owing to a dodgy broadband.
