The site www.immigrantships.net is free and has passenger details into the mid 1900's, although as it is an ongoing site there are not that many yet.

Spruce spring clean---the Free offer from Ancestry is only a delay of 2 weeks, i think--before your chosen package kicks in. You still have to pay up front for this, and if you don't like their site, you have to be smartish letting them know you are quitting--and cancel your direct debit. So, it's part free to a point, but if you don't intend to commit afterwards------------?Arfermo.

Thankyou to all who answered my question i will follow up the info left re the free sites to see if i can find my grandmother, who after many years is still elusive to me, i think this is a last resort as i cannot find her in England. Thankyou for your time.
