I always use New Search, and have no problem. Smith and Jones work perfectly well in New Search. But I did try Old Search, and no difference.

Are you using the old search or the new search? It sounds as though you have been switched to the "new search". I know I was yesterday for some unknown reason. If you switch back to "old search" then the birth comes up on it's own as the only one.

Hi all,

It seems to have "gone funny" on me. Re births 1916+, if I put in parents surnames Smith and Jones, no problem - thousands pop up. But if I put in Fell and Verdon, it pulls up rubbish. The first birth that appears is Fell, mmn Moody. There is definitely a birth of a Fell mmn Verdon on there, but it doesn't come up till about page 7.

Have I lost my marbles?
