I knew roughly where my family was born and found the parish had an archive registry of everything you need, try typing into google theparish name and then BMD see what you get!
It worked for me

If you are talking about relatively recent dates Jane, then the church where the baptism took place will have a register with the details in it.

Those with relatives living in the Medway area are extremely fortunate to have the Medway City Ark resource online. On this you can view many Baptism, marriage and funeral details going way back. There may be other counties who have information also.

It may also be worth googling to see if the county you are looking for has an online parish clerk site.

Happy hunting. Cx

Also on http://freereg.rootsweb.com/index.htm:
"Our objective is to provide free Internet searches of baptism, marriage, and burial records, that have been transcribed from parish and non-conformist registers of the U.K. FreeREG is a companion project to FreeBMD (a database of the GRO birth, marriage and death indexes from 1837) and FreeCEN (a database of census information).
We are in need of volunteers willing to transcribe registers, to make their existing transcriptions available on FreeREG or undertake one of the many supporting tasks. (Follow the link to How to Volunteer for information on how to participate.)"
