A useful option for printing parts of a GR tree, is to highlight an individual on the full tree, then click on 'Ancestors' or 'Descendants'. Either of these will show the direct line leading to or from the selected individual, but will not include siblings or children . You can then print off a copy of this shortened tree by the same method you would use for a full tree.
This often gives enough information for others who are not really interested in genealogy, but curious about immediate family. This will also not cost you any more than you are already paying for GR (if anything)

You can download a free family history software from FamilySearch.org . Then import your GR file as a gedcom and work on it from there.

Perhaps that might be an easier way.

FTM will allow you to create a gedcom using the names in any report you have created

Assuming FTM 2010, create the report with the names that you wish to send, right click, Export, select gedcom as file type and away you go..

Thank you. I thought that may be the only way!

Unfortunately I do not think that there is a way to do that.

If you are using a program such as Family Tree Maker rather than sending the information as a conventional family tree format you can produce various types of report on selected individuals such as their ancestors or descendants. That might be a way to forward only the relevant information whilst excluding information that you do not wish to reveal.

Alternatively it is a case of making a copy of your complete tree and then deleting all the people you do not wish to send details of.

Does anyone know if there is a way to move one branch of my tree onto an individual file?. I have contact with several members of my family and would like to forward information to them which relates to their line only. Any advice would be welcome. Thank you.
